The new year is upon us, and with it, the opportunity to run lots of amazing races. There are, obviously, tens of thousands of races that take place every year, in every country. We combed the internet, looking to find cool, funky, interesting, and challenging races across the globe that piqued our interest.
1. January — San Diego Trail 50 (California) —

This race caught our eye, since the Wall Street Journal recently profiled San Diego as an up-and-coming food scene. So, you know, make it a weekend.
2. February — The North Face Thailand 100

It’s a 100-miler. In Thailand. You don’t get more intense than this.
3. February — Colombia Impact Marathon

The Colombia Impact Marathon is also a social enterprise that promotes charitable giving. Make good on that New Year’s Resolution to do better by doing good. Plus, run a marathon.

It’s a marathon. On ice. In Siberia. ‘nuff said.
5. March — Malta Marathon

Any reason to visit Malta is good with us.
6. April — Zurich Marathon

Zurich is a beautiful city, and the Zurich Marathon promises to be a beautiful, challenging race.
7. April — Classic Quarter Ultramarathon, Cornwall

A 44-mile run along the coast of Cornwall, the Classic Quarter offers beautiful, scenic coastline views.
